Easter

I found a fun new way to decorate easter eggs this year. By melting crayons on the hot eggs, the wax runs down the egg and makes a really cool look. Everyone's first eggs worked really well, but then the eggs cooled off too much and wouldn't work. We thought we should just heat them up in the microwave for a couple of seconds...Yeah, don't do that.

A fun Easter Cake I made out of chicken Peeps. Favorite quote of the day from Chad, "Hey, are you sure that's not supposed to be a sunflower? I think it looks a lot like a sunflower." Thanks.

Spencer's 8th BDay Party

Happy Birthday, Spencer!!Spencer picked a sports theme so we made a banner, had gatorade and water in the cooler, popcorn, peanuts, bubble gum, and sunflower seeds for refreshments.
We made a bunch of different balls for his cupcakes
He invited a bunch of friends to the gym at the church and played lots of fun games
This was the time out zone/penalty box (which Daniel utilized like the entire time) where friends could take a break, get a tattoo, or look at sports trading cards.
Spence with a bunch of girls...that's a shocker!!

Here is a video of one of the fun games that we played. A towel relay race. Overall a ton of fun for everyone! Happy Birthday, Spencer!!

Spencer is 8!!

The thing I love about Spencer is his smile. And his laugh. And his sunny dispostition, his optimism, his thoughtfullness, his sense of humor, his contentment...ok, this could take all day:) I mean, seriously...look at that face! Wakes up with pure joy.
All that excitement over a cub scout shirt and scriptures. Only Spencer.
Even though he would have been completely happy with the scriptures and a scout shirt, and he had exceeded his budget with just those two things...I felt WAY better about his birthday in giving him the BB Gun. Not quite so lame. But again, look at that FACE! How can I resist giving him everything?!

April Fools!!

My boys are all getting old enough to start fully appreciating the holidays. In our home, April Fools' Day has been a holiday greatly neglected and not reaching its full potential. This year, I decided to begin their schooling on how to do a proper April Fools' Day. I began with telling them that it was Opposite Day and to celebrate we would be having our dessert first.Little did they know: it was a meatloaf! Heeheee
Then I gave them all berry juices for a drink which is a rare occasion since we always only have water for dinner but to their dismay they couldn't suck it: it was Jell-O. Look at Daniel in the back trying to figure it out:) Good times!

Daniel's 10th

I see you peeking!! 1st clue he is not really asleep: fully dressed. Excited, Daniel?
He had a great birthday. A new MP3 player, some clothes, and a new stereo for his room. The era of blaring music when there is a mad boy at me in the house has begun. Lucky for me, he likes the same music I do:) Go ahead, be mad! Just make sure you are mad to Shaggy or Usher.
I know...not my most creative, or symmetrical cake ever, right? At least I didn't buy one, although, I'm sure Daniel probably would have preferred it that way.
Just a funny picture I found. This is how Max woke up one morning. Me and Daniel had to have a talk about him practicing his artistic capabilities on Max while he slept. Not a very serious talk- I have to admit even I giggled a little bit:)

SO THRILLING!!

I am the coach this year for Spencer's Pee-Wee baseball team. We didn't have the best year, a couple of wins and a lot of losses, but we learned a LOT and had some fun. Every team played in a single elimination ternament in which we won our first game by forfeit. The second game of the tournament we were scheduled to play against the number one team in the division: Plain City. (dum, dum, DUM!!) I had no expectations of grandeur going into the game, but my hopes continued to rise as we continued to keep the lead after a great first inning. We only played two innings before the time was called, but we WON 5-4 after striking out two of their batters at the bottom of the 2nd inning. Spencer was the catcher and did an amazing job! He even slid into a play at 3rd and was SAFE! He said, "Sliding is AWESOME! I'm going to do that every time!" He must have a teensy bit of me in him:)
We could sure tell that that team didn't know how to lose because they were getting MAD! Arguing every call, disputing every situation which in all honesty made it even better for me. I LOVE taking prideful men and watching their faces as a little girl shoves a win down their throats. (mwah hahahahaHA!)
I was up before the stinking magpies this morning as soon as I remembered how cool yesterday was and couldn't go back to sleep.
Honestly the BEST feeling!
